Eva Morris and Nina Brown have wrapped up their Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games, marking an important moment for New Zealand sport. This was New Zealand’s first appearance in artistic swimming since the Beijing 2008 Olympics, making it only the third time the nation has competed in this event at the Olympics (Los Angeles 1984, Beijing 2008 and Paris 2024) Making this a huge milestone for both the athletes and the federation.
The New Zealand Artistic Swimming Federation shared their thoughts on this achievement, expressing pride in the athletes’ performances:
"Very very proud of these two athletes - they have represented our sport so well within the NZ Team environment. And on the world stage. Two PBs at the Olympics is a massive achievement. Huge credit to both of them and their coach, Marina Kholod."
Their efforts highlight the growing pool of talent in New Zealand and lay the groundwork for future growth. As Artistic Swimming New Zealand continues to promote and develop the sport, we look forward to seeing how the next generation of young swimmers are inspired by their story.
